"Joy Carpenter . . . provided extensive comments; her suggestions, large and small, have done much to improve the book." - Dr. Daniel Bonevac in the Preface
Helping Dr. Bonavac with this book was one of the most gratifying experiences of my life. You see, "Dr. B" was one of my favorite profs at The University of Texas. The passion and enthusiasm with which he taught were undeniably contageous. Dr. B trained me to continuously expand the dimensions of my mind. All that to say, I was immensely honored to work with him professionally, and to be entrusted with such a significant responsibility.

Check out the sites above to see the fruit of some of my work. And click on the social media icons to visit the active online communities, which did not exist before I created and cultivated them.
Teaching in China
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
- Mark Twain
After finishing my senior year at The University of Texas - on a wing and a prayer - I moved to China to teach English at a Chinese university. When I embarked upon this incredible journey, I knew only three words in Mandarin: "Hello," "Starbucks" and "Thank you"... I learned all three on the plane ride over.
"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
